I need an ABN to produce tax invoices for under $3000.
On the ABN application I need to choose a main business activity.
I will be providing expert advice on a consultant basis for people creating a set of guidelines.
There are no options I can find under: professional, consulting, community sector, expert, opinion, advice.
Does anyone know which main business consultants use?

This one can be tricky. There won't be an exact match for each type of work done. We'll need to find something as close a match as possible.
Describing the business as 'consulting' provides the following result:
'Business consulting or management - best practice management advisory'.
Based on what you've described so far, I'd say this sounds like a good option.
