I am an international student enrolled full-time in a two-year master's program. I was charged withholding tax, and I'm looking to get a refund. I now have my TFN (Tax File Number).

My income comes solely from a scholarship that covers my full tuition fee and provides a living allowance. This scholarship is exempt from being taxed.

Do I need to lodge a tax return or fill in any forms for tax purposes?

Hey @fadillashrlyn,

To have any withholding refunded back to you, you'll need to lodge a tax return.

The quickest and easiest way for you to do this is to create a myGov account and link it to the ATO.

Once you have done this, you'll be able to lodge a tax return online.

Check out the info we have on creating a myGov account and linking it to the ATO.
