Hi community,

1. In April 2024, I purchased an extra month of leave through salary sacrifice, which reduced my take-home pay for April, May, and June. How will this impact my tax return for the 2023-2024 financial year? How should I declare this salary-sacrificed leave on my tax return?

2. I applied for a Medicare exemption. What is the typical processing time for such applications? What is the current processing window for Medicare exemptions?

Thanks in advance.

Hello @YZC

Sure

With your salary sacrifice, your employer would have put everything on your EOFY Income statement

You will not have to do anything separately yourself, it would all pre-fill from what your employer reports to us

Pays are seen as a yearly number, not separate months.

For your Medicare question the current processing time is up to 8 weeks. Visit MES for more information
