Hi, I’m a fifo worker who flys from Sydney to Perth then onto the pilbara for work. I must pay my own flights from Sydney to Perth and my employer pays the rest of the way. I know generally my flights are not tax deductible but can I claim my flights that I pay for, to perth and back because I must transport tooling each time I go to and from work as my company has no where safe and secure to store my tooling?

Hi @Jordooooo,
You're right! Generally, you can’t claim the cost of travel between home and work, this includes your flights from Sydney to Perth.
To be eligible you need to meet the criteria found on our website.
If eligible, you'll need to keep good records.
