So I worked in Fiji this past tax year additionally I have not earned any income back in Australia.
I did go onto the ATO website and try and decipher the Cryptic explanation on how to calculate your offset limit : To no prevail.
Am wondering if someone can help me understand. Total income earned for the whole tax year is $18,630. From that I paid the Fijian Gov a total tax of $2,646.
( When arriving back to Australia i went on a big holiday with all my saved up money i had been earning over the last 2 years. Hense why I have no other income to declare / tax to refund )
So I guess im looking for someone to help me understand what exactly I am supposed to do. and if I will infact get a refund or not? I tried to calculate my offset limit but I did not understand what so ever. the total tax I would have paid back here in australia would be calculated by estimating how much income i would earn in a whole year is that correct? Is that how I am going to find my income taxable if I had not earned forgein income? I am VERY confused.

Thank you in advanced to anyone who is able to understand this.
