My current job title is 'Head Chef', however the business where I am employed and the duties that I am required to carry out are not typical to a chef role. I work in a wellness club that includes a whole-food cafe. As part of my role, I am required to develop nutritionally balanced menus and take home meals.

I am studying a degree in Nutrition. I believe that I am able to claim this but I just want to be sure as there was a warning that my deductions are quite high for this industry.

The learnings in the study enhances by ability to develop and support nutritional menus and recipes and once I complete my degree, there will be opportunity for salary increase and my role to expand into nutrition and menu advising across multiple clubs.

Just looking for some confirmation that this is relevant enough to my role to claim as a deduction.

Thanks in advance!

Hello, I would say that it would be allowable as it is directly related to your role and is being used to further your career and produce income. Thanks :)
