Hi ATO,

I have been advised that for each trade I need to calculate the USD profit into AUD.

Here is the standard CFD trade example:(in USD $)

Value of 1 Lot: 100oz Margin 5% Long Swap Value (points) -48.45

Buy Glod Lots: 0.01 Leverage: 20

Opening Time: 2024.04.26 16:56 Opening Price 2340.06

Closing Time: 2024.05.10 16:00 Closing Price 2363.02

Swaps: -6.61

P/L: 22.96

question one:

How to calculate my Profit/Loss in AUD

To calculate it in AUD (A$):

One:

ItemA :Calculate the Opening amount in AUD on Data 04.26 with exchange rate 0.6539: 3,578.62 AUD

ItemB: Calculate the Closing amount in AUD on Data 05.10 with exchange rate 0.6610:

3,574.92 AUD

Then (Gain/Loss)= ItemB-ItemA = -4.3 (AUD)

Two:

P/S in USD on Closing Date $22.96

Calculate it in AUD with the exchange rate on Closing Date 0.6610 = 34.74(AUD)

Question two:

How to calculate Swaps:

Swaps accrued every trading day Calculate it in each date with each exchange rate.

-(0.47/0.6539+0.47/0.6569+1.42/0.6525+0.47/0.6475+0.47/0.6541+

0.47/0.6579+0.47/0.6613+1.43/0.6600+0.47/0.6579+0.47/0.6577) = -10.08AUD

OR

Calculate Swaps at the closing date with the exchange rate on closing date

-6.61/0.6610 = -10 AUD

Howdy @ke.wang.till,

To calculate your profit or loss from a CFD trade in AUD, you’ll need to consider both the change in the value of the trade and the impact of any swaps.

It can be complex to work out but we have info about CFD's in TR2005/15.

If you're wanting specific advice like calculations its best to get tailored technical assistance from us.
