Hi everyone, I run the restaurant with Uber online ordering and I wonder how to GST calculates for below case.

Scenario: My weekly sales is $10000 from Uber. Uber market place fee is 30% of $10000. Uber deducts $3000 plus GST end of the week from my sales.

My confusion is Uber should deduct $2727.27 plus GST (which totally $3000 inclusive GST) as my sales inclusive of GST. But Uber deducts $3000 plus GST which is kind of doubling the GST from me.

Which is same for Doordash and Menulog. Is it correct calculation? Can anyone write down the simple calculation for me to understand?

Howdy @enhee0702,

It depends on what your agreement with Uber says. You should check how they work out their market fee and GST to get a clear understanding and question them if you don't think it's correct.

If you're registered for GST, you'd charge GST on your sales. When Uber collects their fee from you, they charge you GST. You can claim a GST credit for GST you pay.

Check how GST works for further info.
