I am new to Australia and it's my first time filing tax returns. For the financial year ending 2024, I earned $15020.51 and was taxed $4814. I am aware that since I earned less than $18000 I will receive all of this tax back.

I use my private car for work and also work from home some days and want to claim expenses such as petrol, maintenance, work from home furniture etc. My total expenses came out to $1902.69 which i want to know if i can claim.

I'm aware since I have earned less than $18000 I am receiving all of my tax back. How can i also claim these expenses? Because if I add these expenses as tax deductions my taxable income decreases to $13117.82 and will receive less tax.

So is there a way for me to claim these expenses now without decreasing the tax I am already entitled to?

When did you move to Australia? If it was during the year then you don't receive the full tax-free threshold. See below

Tax-free threshold | Australian Taxation Office (ato.gov.au)

You can claim eligible deductions. But you can't receive back more than the tax withheld from your wages. If your gross income is below the tax-free threshold then most expenses are inconsequential. If you have purchased depreciable items (e.g. office furniture > $300) then claim these through depreciation because the expense of these items is claimed over more than one year.
