My wife pays the family private health insurance for herself and my two children and claims this 100% in her tax return. I am entitled to a full exemption under DVA Gold Card and I claim this.... is this correct (on-line info is vague in this space)?

Hi @RogerBel

You got it ! Because you have a DVA gold card then you are exempt.

Check out this link that talks about exemptions from paying the Medicare levy.

When you look at this info you will notice that private health insurance does not get looked at

in working out if you are exempt from paying the Medicare levy.
