One of my employers has paid me as a Sole Trader. I worked as bar/hospitality staff for festivals and concerts. I can't find which "main business or professional activity" item would apply.

Hey @nicmclachlan,

When searching for a business industry code for the type of work you do, it doesn't have to be perfect.

I searched hospitality and the closest I came up with was 72990 Waiter, hospitality - self-employed.

Check out our page on business industry code search, do a different combination of words, you may find something closer.

I doubt you can be a waiter sole trader. It appears your employer must pay you as an employee, which includes covering you for workers compensation. You can consider reporting the employer to the ATO.
