Purchase home for principal place of residence, the vendor asked if he could rent while he found a new home, a single parent. We had not as yet sold how home, took a year for the vendor to move out, and we move in. In the mean time we sold our home and had to rent for 3 months before occupying the new home as our principal place of residence. 1I sold the home after my husbands death. Is there a pro rata time that I will be liable for CGT.
