What does the employment Type Superannuation Income Stream cover? This is an option on the Employment Hero Payroll app and when clicked it then asks for the Contractor ABN but I wanted to double check this is the correct Employment type for the payment of Super only for a Contractor that was paid via invoice?

Hi @AtoMob

We can't really tell you which super to go for.

Any questions about what 'type' of super it is then it's better to call the super fund.

We can tell you when to pay super and how to pay super.

Hi @AtoMob,

Looks like there has been a problem with setting the contractor up in the software.

If a contractor is an employee for super purposes only, their employment type is Non-employee (N). You must include their ABN when adding them. You can’t report any payments you have made to them.

See "How to report employment and tax information through STP" under "Employment basis" on our website.

You can find additional information on our Correcting information reported through STP page.

The correction should fix any issues the contractor has with their tax return.

If the correction cannot be completed, we’ll need look at the record and investigate it further for you.
