Hello,

I’m attempting to do my tax return and have been confused about where to add my $2500 graduate sign-on bonus in my tax return.

Do I add the $2500 in:

- “Australian Government payments such as jobseeker, Youth Allowance and Austudy”

Or

- “Australian Government special payments”

Or

- “Salary, wages, allowances, tips, bonuses ect” (if so, what’s the payers ABN or WPN?)

Thank you

Howdy @tomtom0104,

You should add your $2500 graduate sign-on bonus under “Salary, wages, allowances, tips, bonuses etc.” This is because the sign-on bonus is considered an employee payment and is taxable as part of your income.

Use the ABN or WPN of the employer who paid you the bonus. This info should be available on your payment summary or from your employer.
