I've been trying to call the ATO from overseas at the 4:30pm EST (7:30am GMT) to link MyGov to ATO. When I finally got through I got an automated response telling me to call between the hours of 8:30am and 6:00pm EST. Am I missing something? I'm trying to pay off my HECS debt from overseas and it's been one hurdle after the next trying to set everything up. I'm literally trying to give you money, is it absolutely necessary to make the process so unconscionably difficult?

Hi, this is still an issue, I have been trying to call the ATO from overseas for a week now, all times of the day in AEST business hours - always get the 'calling out of hours' message. Does anyone have a solution?
