I recently started driving uber with my sole trader ABN but I haven't claimed my earnings yet; they are still siting on my uber account.

I want to have a separate account for my uber income but, can I transfer money from my bussiness sole-trader account to my personal account without paying taxes on said transaction or would this be considered an income and "double tax" the money? Or would it be posible to get the uber payment on a second personal savings account and then transfer money to my main personal savings account? Would this transaction be taxed again?

The idea is to get paid gross from uber in a bank account, keep the tax return estimate in that bank account and transfer the rest to my main personal savings account.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Howdy @MannyR,

As a sole trader. There is no legal distinction between your business and personal finances. This means you can:

  • transfer money from your business account to
  • your personal account.

Without it being considered a separate taxable event.
