As a business, we have found that we have incorrectly reported STP for our employees after the roll out of STP Phase 2 in Jan 2022. The main issue is that super salary sacrifice made by employees was not reported as Type S and hence, it is showing in their gross and taxable income and they were taxed by ATO on this amount and separately by their super fund. Is their a way to correct this by updating STP reporting for previous tax years so the employee get a notification on ATO login to prompt them to revise their previous tax returns?

Hello @MK_S,

Not quite.

You can fix it on your end first. To do this you'll need to do an update event and report the info correctly. Check out the info we have about correcting information reported via STP. If you're still unsure how to do this, you can reach out to the software provider. They can guide you through it according to your software.

You can then let the employee know they need to amend that year's tax return. 😎

There's no notification process to go through us to be able to tell them.
