I applied online last month and my MyGov not linked with my ATO service. Under this situation, how i can get my TFN ? Thanks.
Hey @georgeccho,
Happy to help with another TFN question!
It depends which online application method you used.
For example, if you applied as a foreign passport holder/ permanent migrant or temporary visitor, the TFN letter gets sent to your postal address, not your myGov inbox.
So take a look at the webpage for your specific application method and it should say how you'll get your TFN.
And if you want to link the ATO, you can do that too π

@RachATO , thanks for your help. May I ask is the "ATO Receipt ID" useful to check my application status? I called ATO hotline 2 times and the officer mentioned they cannot check my application with the ATO Receipt ID. Thanks.
Hey @georgeccho,
That's right! π
The reason they can't check your application status with any info is because you don't exist in our system yet. π«
So, they can't track something that doesn't exist.
Once your application is processed, then yes, we'll be able to find you by using your name and DOB. π’
You can link your myGov to the ATO when you get your TFN because then you'll exist in our systems.
