I am deeply confused as to how I claim three depreciating assets. I never claimed their depreciation in previous years, having only just realised I can do so.

In 2021 and 2022 I purchased several pieces of furniture for our home office, which are used a total of 5 days week by my husband and I as we WFH each 3 days a week (sometimes more)

  1. Book case – $2500
  2. Built in cupboard - $4,600 (1/3 used for office supplies)
  3. Office chair – $4,000

The online ATO depreciation guide and tool do not get me any closer to understanding. I want to do the right thing but I do also want to claim what I am legally entitled to.

Any idea of what I can claim and how? Many thanks in advance!

Best to go to a local tax agent if you don’t know what to do.
