Good Day,

My partner works as an employee for a foreign company, earns pre-tax foreign income and she completed her tax return for last FY.

She recently received a letter from ATO saying "You have entered the PAYG instalments system." It's basically the tax amount that she'll pay quarterly.

1) Is there any way to cancel it or change it to annually?

Hi @ersan00,

Yes, you can! 😀

But, only before the due date on your first BAS or instalment notice of your financial year.

You can vary your PAYG instalments through ATO online via myGov linked services. 💻📱

Thanks for your reply Tamara. However, I couldn’t find a way to change instalment options through ATO online. I read the document you sent on the previous message and searched up all the menus, but couldn’t find it.

Is there an instruction about it?

I've been wanting to change my instalments to be annual as well, and I just happened to find the option today!

Sign in to ATO online via myGov, then go to: Tax>Manage>Tax registrations.

Under Current registrations, you should see Pay as you go Instalments.

Click Update, and from there you should get the option to change your Lodgement cycle to be Quarterly, Annual, or Monthly.

Unfortunately, I keep getting an error saying:

I'm getting the same error. Could you fix that?
