This was my first year to pay more tax on the tax return.

The day I lodged the my tax (10 days ago), I found that from Tax > payment > account detail

There are 2 accounts, Income tax 551 and Activity statement 003

the Balance of income tax 551 was the same amount with what I suppose to pay (from the estimated before lodged), so I made the payment straightaway. I did not get any receipt or notification from ATO that I made the payment. But I have screenshot of transaction from my bank application.

Today I received the "Notice of assessment - year ended 30 June 2024" Amount payable on this notice is same as the estimated, and what I paid before.

I checked Tax > payment > account detail. This time both of the accounts are $0 ( both overdue and Balance)

Does this mean it all clear? do I still need to may a payment from the notice of assessment?

thank you for your time and respond.

Hi @Supreeda

Let me give you some info to help you.

Log into your ATO online account and go to:

  • Tax
  • Accounts
  • Tax accounts

Then select income tax 551.

You'll now see what a list of transactions, just like you would on a bank statement.

Look for the transaction for the 2024 return.

Then match this amount with the 2024 NOA. If they're the same, then you've paid your bill 😊

You'll also see a balance here. This should tell you if anything is outstanding.
