Can i claim interest on money borrowed to buy Pre IPO options in a company

I have an opportunity to purchase pre ipo Shares in a company - if i boww Money to fund the share purcase as an investment , can i claim interest incurred on the loan in my annual tax return even though the company wont have generated any income untill such time as they IPO or are sold ?
