I am wanting some black and white information i can use to prove a point to the bank the the ABN is unable to show two middle names. Can anyone point me in the direction of some literature proving this as a 1 hour phone call to the ABR has been unable to give me anything i can show the bank.

The context:

I have client with 4 partners on the ABN and 2 partners have the exact same initials even though 1 should have 2 middle initials. Bank refusing to put full names on documents to be signed so clients are unsure who signs where. Bank also will only use the initials on the ABN (fair enough) ABR unable to include both middle names so bank wont use extra middle name initial on anything.

Have they tried asking the ABR to swap out to the other middle name, so as to be able to differentiate the two people?


Or is this also going to provide the same initials regardless? โ“


We'd love to provide you what you're asking for. If only it existed!


The ABR has limitations as it matches what info we have in our systems too. Is their name in our systems the full four legal names? ๐Ÿ”ข
