Hi, I submitted my tax return on 3 August 2024 for the FYE 2023 to 2024.

ATO advised it usually takes up to 2 weeks (10 business days) to process. However, it has already been three months and I still haven't received my tax refund. I checked the status of my tax return and it says it's still in progress, however, the status has remained like this for the past three months since I lodged my tax return. ATO has also sent me text messages advising they are still processing my tax return refund and would contact me if they need further information. The last message I received was 2 September 2024.

I have checked the details in my lodgement, including my bank details and it's correct. I haven't missed out any details.

Could you please advise why my tax return refund is taking so long to be processed?

Thank you.

Hi @Jenny20,

That is great we let you know that we are working on it. It usually means there is something that we need to check, didn't match or has been amended by the reporting body eg bank, shares or an employer.

We don't have access to your account to advise exactly what the issue is but as soon as we have the info needed it will be completed.
