Hi,

If I have rental property in El Salvador and I receive rental income and pay tax on that income in El Salvador.

I am Australian resident for tax purpose and I am just wondering do I get foreign income tax offset for tax paid on rental income in El Salvador?

Thank you.

If you have paid tax on foreign income that you have declared in Australia then you can claim a tax offset. See eligibility

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

So which means even if there is no Income Tax Treaties between Australia and El Salvador to avoid double taxation we can still claim foreign tax offset in Australia for tax paid on foreign income. Is that correct?

Thank you.
