Hi If i was lucky enough to win a house lottery in Australia how much would i need to pay in tax to transfer the title to me and be able to own it?

If you won the property, wouldn't the house already be in your name? If so no transfer would need to occur.


Usually, you don't pay tax on winnings in Australia (no idea about British tax impacts) - check on the website here Prizes and awards | Australian Taxation Office.


In the future when / if you dispose of the house (for example if you sell), you may be required to pay capital gains tax on it as it is an Australian asset. Here is the information you'd need to consider if that happened: Foreign residents and capital gains tax | Australian Taxation Office.
