I need a clearance certificate for a deceased estate for which am the executor. My name is also on the certificate of title. As per the ATO website I should apply for the clearance certificate using my name and TFN. But what is I own a few other properties? Shouldn't the certificate be issued to the deceased person's name? How will ATO match the dots.

Any response is appreciated.

Thanks

No - they cannot sell the property because they are not there anymore.

Not relevant - the clearance cert is for you as executor only.

Thanks Bruce.

I understand how it works now - while applying I need to give my TFN/ABN, my DOB, contact details etc. Under the individual details section - Title should be "As executor for" and give the deceased person's full name. In that way the certificate will be issued "My name As executor for Deceased.

Just an update - ATO rejected the above application and advised to apply it again in the Executor's name (Example - Miss Name). No need to put "As Trustee for " and the deceased name on it.
