Yes, another gift card question.

I have trawled through with the 'gift card' search term but have not been able to find something similar to my situation.

I have had a long time supplier that goes above and beyond and has saved me 10's of thousands easily.

As it will be my first time sending a gift card to this supplier.

I would like to send one to the value of up to $1,000 for the past few years.

Since this is the fist time doing something like this i am unaware of the ins and outs of any implications or whether it is even allowed.

Im sure it will generate me more revenue as they may strive harder to attain better deals as a result. But really, i just want to reward them for the last few years.

Type of gift card: EFTPOS

Way sent: E-mail

Would greatly appreciate any insights into this.

Hi @DarkPathogen,

That sounds like such a nice thing to do for your suppliers!

There's no tax on gifts in Australia, so your supplier won't have to declare the $1000 gift card as income or anything. You also won't be able to claim any GST credits from the gift card as you are sending it as a gift.

We've got more info on gifts and donations on our website that you should have a read of.
