I’ve been working from home part-time since 2020 but have never claimed a deduction. If I have records of the hours I worked can I use the fixed rate per hour and backdate these deductions in this years tax return?

Hi @KH1980,

If you've forgotten to claim WFH deductions, you'll need to amend your tax returns.

Generally, you have 2 years to lodge an amendment to your tax return. Outside of this time limit, you'll need to lodge an objection.

Here's some more info on working from home expenses. Different fixed rates apply depending on which years you intend to claim.

It's imporant you check your eligibility and keep good records.
