Hi, I am wondering if a bullbar would be considered an acceptable tax deduction for my circumstances. I am a disability support worker in a rural area and drive a landcruiser. My clients live on farms where there is alot of wildlife and I am concerned this may result in damage to my car or worse yet completely destroy it which would effect my ability to provide any services to my clients. If this is acceptable are side steps also acceptable as this would help my clients get in and out of my car.

Hi,
here is a similar post which may answer your question.
Thanks for the reply. That post gives me hope. My car is private registered but is on ATO logbook scheme with 90% business use. Based upon the above post would I be correct in assuming both the bullbar and steps would be a suitable deduction at 90% of the value of purchase? Would this classify as depreciating as opposed to an instant write off due to being fitted to my existing vehicle?
