Do I still need to apply for a Foreign Income Tax Offset (FITO) if I already have a Double Taxation Agreement (DTA) certificate for income in which taxes have already been paid in another country? Or should I simply include the DTA certificate when I file my income tax return?

If you are an Australian tax resident then you must declare your worldwide income. See below

So foreign income is declared. If you don't apply FITO you will be taxed overseas and here on that income.

If you don't calculate and apply a FITO then you will be double taxed on this income. Link explains claiming the offset.

Please read the question again, I am told that if I have Double Taxation Agreement (DTA) certificate then I dont require to apply for FITO, is it true?
