We are purchasing a rental portfolio from a real estate business in QLD. We are not buying their business name / company. Only the management of the properties to merge with our existing portfolio. No staff coming over. Just the properties. Does GST and Stamp Duty apply?

hey @becsmith99

stamp duty is a state tax so youll have to check with the QLD government.

you may want to get advice from a tax agent about the GST part. If it's a big portfolio you're purchasing, you want to make sure everything is done correctly.
