If i live and work in a property rented by my company, the company pays the electricity bill. Can the company claim a GST credit for the GST on the electricity bill? My accountant says no, but the ATO website says yes. Please confirm?

Maybe you could provide the link where the website says yes. Did your accountant provide a reason for the no?

Thankyou for your reply! I don't think it specifically outright said "yes you can claim GST for electricity" but just generally said if your charged GST and it is used for business, you can claim it. Regardless, i am trying to understand why. The accountant says that GST can't be claimed on residential premises, even if used for business, because it is classified as input taxed. However, the ATO definition of input taxed states that GST is not included in the price (https://www.ato.gov.au/businesses-and-organisations/gst-excise-and-indirect-taxes/gst/when-to-charge-gst-and-when-not-to/input-taxed-sales) however there is very clearly GST on the tax invoice for the electricity.
