Our CEO has resigned and we should be changing the name on the STP file but the position has not been filled. Whose name can be populated on the STP file? Does it have to be the CEO?

I assume you are asking about the Payer Contact Details:
- Payer Contact Name
- Payer Email Address
- Payer Business Hours Phone Number
I assume you are a small business with limited employee numbers because you had the CEO as the contact person. The ATO (and other government entities) need an authorised person who could answer any questions about the data in the pay event that understands the businesses employment obligations.
Who prepares your STP file? Who do they report to? Who's accountable for employment obligations in your organisation? Who approves the bank file? A role like that.
In a medium to large business, it might be the Payroll Manager or the Chief Payroll Officer or a Chief Financial Officer.
