I have a supplier that we have been paying since last year. I just checked their GST registration on the ABN lookup which shows that they were deregistered for GST last April which is prior to when they started invoicing us. I have asked them to verify they are registered for GST or not 10 days ago and subsequently asked two more times and they keep saying they are checking with their accountant. We have paid them alot of GST since last year. Can they now back date their registration and do they have to pay us back the GST?
