Hi there - we’ve recently purchased a new car using for business and private purposes and will do the logbook method to work out the percentage split. Do I need to redo any previously owned cars within the same 12 week period as the new car or the previous logbook still holds? Thanks.

Logbook only needs to be representative of your work-related use. From ATO

"Your logbook is valid for 5 years. However, if your circumstances change (for example, if you change jobs or move to a new house), and the logbook is no longer representative of your work-related use, you will need to complete a new 12-week logbook."

A change of car is not necessarily a change in your work-related use. So current logbook is able to be used.
