Our dad wants to transfer $100,000 to us as a gift. Is this legal and will this affect his aged Pension or affect him in any other way?

No tax on gifting money itself. https://community.ato.gov.au/s/article/a079s0000009GnFAAU/tax-on-gifts-and-inheritances
ATO doesn't handle pension. You would need to ask Service Australia the pension question.
