I don't see a problem doing that for your own records.
What's the question you want to ask about GST?
Thank you for taking the time to respond. Just to confirm—using an adjustment-type invoice for a bad debt write-off won’t affect the ability to claim back the GST portion, correct?
I think that would depend on your accounting. Cash you don't do anything because you didn't report the sales in the first place; accrual yes because you have already reported and paid gst on it (assuming it's not GST-free sales)
