I recently received a NOA sms and I have no idea why. I am an international student who worked part-time for barely 2 months last year and made almost a negligible income. I can't currently link ATO to MyGov because it's insanely hard to get in contact with ATO services via call, so I was wondering (for my own sanity) why have I received a NOA? Do I owe tax, if so, why and roughly how much?

We don't include login links in our text messages, and we never ask you to provide personal information through SMS. You should always access our online services by typing ato.gov.au or my.gov.au into your browser.
The NOA will tell you if you owe tax and how much. If you're unsure about the legitimacy of the NOA, it's best to contact us so we can look at your account. Then we can explain what's happened.
