I am working some weekends and being paid via ABN. I earn somewhere in-between $400 -$1000 a month. I also have a casual week day job of about 60hours a month paid wages. I have been doing a yearly tax return with an accountant for wages and ABN combined. I have just recently applied for the Centrelink payment -Job seeker and i am still waiting for outcome result.

I don't spend anything specifically regarding my ABN work.

My question is "How do I go about doing a profit and loss statement?" as i assume I am going to need one for Centrelink.( I did for Job seeker application and was able to use a letter from my accountant)

I'm a first time poster in the early stages of marriage separation (after 31 years) and quite overwhelmed. Any information or advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanking you in advance

Hi @Loany

A profit and loss (or income) statement lists your sales and expenses and tells you how much profit you're making, or how much you’re losing. You'd complete this for your ABN income. You may be able to get a template online you can fill out to help you keep track.

If you take a look at our business records info it gives you details about the kind of records you need to keep.
