Hello,

I am having issues with my ATO Business portal.

I can login to our business account but I am unable to click anything. The error code is "403 - Forbidden". I tried using both Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers as well as clearing the browsing data/cache/cookies and restarting the laptops or using different devices.

I have no issues with logging into RAM and I have full access of 'Authorisation administrator'. All services boxes are ticked including ATO Access Manager, Australian Business Register, Online services for business as well.

I also have the same issue with logging into Australian Business Register although I was given full access in RAM. The error code is "Access denied - we are unable to provide you with access to these ABN details as you have not been authorised to access your entity's ABN record."

Could you please assist?

Thank you.

Hi Ranma, I am in Australia actually. All good now though - called the ATO this morning, and they resent the invitation, which seems to have solved the issue!

I had the same issue and a couple of calls to the ATO to fix.

  • If you are NOT the Principal Administrator for the entity and have been given rights to act for that entity by the Principal Administrator - via Relationship Authorisation Manager - there is still one more step needed before you can see everything. You will get the 403 - Forbidden message until this is done.
  • The Principal Administrator needs to ALSO go to Access Manager (another section of the ATO website) AFTER they have linked you with RAM and AFTER you have accepted the authorisation in RAM.
  • In Access Manager the Principal Administrator will see the entity, and your details, and they can tick one box that gives you rights to do everything for that entity or they can select separately the rights they want you to have.
  • Once this is done you can refresh your access to Online Business Services and you should see everything.
