I previously worked as an office manager and would claim a fixed rate for the hours I worked from home. I changed careers in April and now work as a teacher.

As a teacher, I am buying more stationery supplies, which would be better claimed using the actual cost method.

Am I able to claim a fixed rate for my previous job and then use the actual cost method for my new job?

From ATO site

"To calculate your deduction for working from home expenses, you must use one of the methods set out below."

You use either one method or the other for all working from home expenses.

Working from home expenses | Australian Taxation Office

You can change from year to year but not through the year.
