Hi,

I am attempting to complete my tax return and my employer has marked my income statement as tax ready. From what I can see it looks correct.

However when I have attempted to prepare my return when i reach the part where is shows me salary, wages, allowances, tips and bonuses etc my employer appears twice.

The first drop down for my employer has my income and tax withheld (which is correct and matches my income statement). The second drop down for my employer has no income or tax withheld.

The only thing I have noticed is my reportable fringe benefits exempt is sitting prefilled within the second drop down. Should they not be sitting together under one line?

The other question I had was my super appeared in my income statement under the tax ready (figures are correct), but in the prefilled information in my return in the section reportable employer super contributions its blank.

Should I query my employer around the split of my income and reportable fringe benefits, and the super not being displayed even though my income statement thats marked tax ready is accurate.

Hey @m.r.t.2018,

When you do your tax return, your employer might show up twice:

  • The first one shows your pay and tax.
  • The second one might only show fringe benefits (extra perks), like a car or other support.

These might have been sent separately. As long as your pay and tax match your income statement, you’re good to go.

The reportable employer super contributions section only includes extra contributions like salary sacrifice or voluntary top-ups you arranged. If your super is just the standard amount, this section won’t apply to you.
