I referred Revolut to a couple of friends and once they joined, I got around $200 as referral bonus. Are these amount taxed?

If yes, what category shall I put them in as they are not salary nor business income?

Hi @user41,

Generally, the nature of assessable income is that it is regular and relied upon. Whether your referral bonus is taxable would depend on how often you receive the payments and whether these amounts are expected.

If you meet these requirements, and you need to report the amounts, you record it under 'other income' in your tax return.

Thank you for your reply @RachelATO. I received a total of 2 bonuses each $110. These amounts were expected as it was advertised by Revolut. I also received around USD 25 by playing games within the app. Do they qualify as assessable income ?
