I went from employed to self-employed early in the financial year and have started a logbook since being self-employed and have used the logbook method to calculate car expenses.
Using the same car, am I allowed to use the cents per km method for the travel I did between jobs whilst I was employed or is that not allowed?
You can only use one method per car. From ATO
"You use either of 2 methods to calculate deductions for car expenses:"
Expenses for a car you own or lease | Australian Taxation Office
The method is for the car. If you use that car for both business and as employee you can only use the one method for that particular car.
