You can ask us to release you from a tax debt. There are a few steps involved.
Before you can apply, you must lodge any outstanding tax returns or activity statements, so we know the total debt amount.
We consider each person on a case-by-case basis, taking into account your individual circumstances. We can only release you from payment of a debt, where paying those debts would leave you unable to provide for yourself or your family.
You need to use this debt release tool to find out if you're eligible for release and to access the application form.
