I am non-resident living in HK. I settled my yearly tax payment posting cheque to ATO Albury without problems in past years.

In Apr 25, as usual, I posted a cheque with the Notice of assessment to settle my tax ended 30 Jun 24 via registered post to:

Mr. David Allen, Deputy Commissioner of Taxation, Australian Taxation Office, Locked Bag 1936,

Albury NSW 1936, AUSTRALIA.

However, the letter was UNOPENED with a sticker "Return to sender".  There is NO REASON written why the letter was returned! Why this happened?

Can I send again just writing on the envelope as:

Australian Taxation Office

Locked Bag 1936

Albury NSW 1936

AUSTRALIA

Looking forward to helpful answers.

Hi, YellowPotato

Thanks for your reply.

Enclosed in my registered letter is an "Australian bank cheque" with all required detailed written on the back of the cheque, but the letter was UNOPENED & RETURNED WITHOUT REASONS.

I will resend the "unopened letter" to the ATO Albury NSW 1936 again.

Best regards

ALam
