I am a sole trader and am not legally required to pay myself superannuation. However, I did pay superannuation and I am not sure how to claim it as a deduction.

Do I claim it in the "Deduction Section" what was D12 on a paper form? or

Do I enter it as a business expense in the "Supplementary Business Section"?

Yes - but only after you have lodged a Notice of Intent to claim (NoI) to your super fund,

and received confirmation from your super fund.

The NoI form needs to be accepted by your super fund before the earlier of:

1.  Date your tax return was lodged, or

2.  30 June of the next year.
