Due to the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House closing down and you can no longer sign up to this program. how do you pay a sub contractor performer's super as I am a small business sole trader who only occasionally contracts them? when using something like Xero it asks irreverent questions as it treats them as an employee, which isn't true. what do I do?

Hey 2jcat1234,

One of the more expert folks may reply as well, but for me, as a community member, I see you mentioned Xero "treating them as an employee" - this is right in the context that they may be an employee "for the purposes of superannuation".

Check out the ATO advice here on whether a contractor is an employee for superannuation purposes or not:

https://www.ato.gov.au/businesses-and-organisations/super-for-employers/work-out-if-you-have-to-pay-super/super-for-independent-contractors

If they are then consider if you can pay their fund through your software, online or by using the contractors stapled fund form

ATO advice here

Good luck!
