Hi,

I have a single story low set unit that is one of 9 units, each having their own solar hot water system located on their roof. My unit’s system has been completely destroyed by hail damage, consequently leading to electrical damage from water in the system. Repairs are not an option as the system is cooked, body corporate do not cover expenses as individual responsibility.

My electrician and plumber has both advised to remove the system and replace with a free standing electrical hot water system as this is safer and more cost effective in the long run.

the cost is around 8k, I’m wondering is this a repair or capital works when it’s tax time? Thanks you so much for any info or advice.
